The key role of the Friends of Atwood (FOA) Community Garden Club is to encourage friends, neighbors and community-based organizations to explore the connection between the great outdoors, community service, cultural arts and social engagement. The club will operate under the theme Sankofa Ashe and focus on four main activities of community outreach and education: garden maintenance, social activities & fundraisers, livestock management and professional development/educational opportunities.
FOA Members help build and maintain our Atwood Model sites at the following locations:
Friends are invited to serve as ambassadors and work alongside volunteers during the monthly Hands On Atlanta community clean-up activities. All Friends in good standing are also encouraged to take leadership roles in individual projects and events. This includes developing and maintaining:
* The annual membership fee to join the Friends of Atwood is $10.00 ($5/Season)
* Membership fees may be required to participate in some of our training activities.
* Club meetings are held every 2nd Saturday from 12:30p-2p following the Atwood Community Clean-Ups (9a-12N)@ 779 Atwood Street SW, Atlanta, GA 30310
* FOA Members are encouraged to schedule and host garden training and special events at any Atwood Model site.
Please use the form below to register for the Friends of Atwood Community Garden Club. The fee is $5 per season (Spring/Summer) or (Fall/Winter) or $10 per year annually. We welcome donations to help cover basic operating and maintenance costs, animal feed and care, and tool purchases and repairs.
