In The Beginning . . .

The year 2010 brought a lot of “firsts” to NEXT Steps: our first MLK Day service event, our first farm management and farmers market experience (Metro Atlanta Urban Farm & Fresh Fridays Farmers Market), and our first year-round training schedule.  2010 also marked my first year as a community partner with the Mayor’s Youth Program, the Youth Teens Work Program, and the College Park City Hall’s Economic Development and Business Management Divisions.

My goal was to test out my theory that I could better teach kids business management and strategy techniques through urban farm and market management training.  A special thanks goes to the Metro Atlanta Urban Farm for allowing us to launch our first Herb & Farm Summer Internship Program.

Whew! What a year.
