Course Title: Complete Your Skills Self-Assessment

Welcome to your first step in building your future!

Our Skill Self-Assessment Worksheet helps you get ready for your learning journey by asking a few simple questions about your current skillset.  This worksheet will help you discover what you’re good at, what you enjoy doing, and which skills you already have.

It’s a quick activity to help you:

  • Think about your personal strengths
  • Understand what “skills” really mean
  • Recognize where you’ve used your skills before — at home, in school, or in your community

By completing this worksheet, you’ll be better prepared to complete the full Skills Self-Assessment and start building your digital portfolio with confidence!

What You’ll Do:

It is recommended that you use the Community On Demand Future Ready Skill Cards to help you with this, but don’t worry — you can still complete the worksheet without them!

1. Click the link to open the worksheet
Open the Skills Self-Assessment Worksheet

2. Make a Copy

    • When the file opens, go to File > Make a copy
    • This lets you type in your answers without changing the original

3. Fill Out Your Copy

    • Use the skill cards or just think about what you’re good at
    • Mark which skills you “have,” “need,” or “want to use more”

4. Save and Download

After you finish, click File > Download > Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)

5. Upload It to Your Portfolio

    • Go to the My Documents section of your digital portfolio
    • Upload your finished worksheet so you can come back to it later!

💡 Tip:

Be honest and take your time — this is all about you.
Every time you finish a new assignment, go back and update your worksheet. You’ll see how much you’ve grown!
