Junior Executive Managers (6 Positions)
Job Title: Junior Executive Management (JEM) Team Member Location: Varies; The Smith Family Ranch, Stockbridge, GA (HQ) Position Type: Leadership roles for middle & high school project-based learning “e”sports teams (i.e. education, entertainment, entrepreneurship, economics & environmental Stewardship) Program Duration: Year-round training opportunities (pre-apprenticeship program); Three Sessions: Aug-Dec (Session I); Jan- May (Session II); Jun-Jul (Session III) Opportunity: The Junior Executive Management (JEM) Team is a unique leadership development program designed for middle and high school students. JEM Teams play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the development, implementation and evaluation of project-based learning initiatives. This exciting opportunity allows motivated and driven students to gain hands-on experience in leadership, entrepreneurship and economic development as they are introduced to the companies (i.e. STEAM Career Clusters) that provide career opportunities and impact their community’s local economy. Responsibilities:- Community On Demand AgVentures Program: Collaborate with the team to design, plan, and manage educational programs and marketing strategies using the Community On Demand AgVentures game, fostering leadership skills and sustainability awareness among campers and visitors.
- Habitat Management: Assist in the care and maintenance of the five distinct habitats on the ranch, including wetlands, woodlands, riparian areas, meadows, and nature trails. Help organize habitat improvement projects.
- Farm Animal Care: Participate in the daily care and well-being of the farm animals, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their health.
- Field Trip Coordination: Coordinate and lead educational field trips for schools and community groups, sharing knowledge about agriculture, nature, and sustainability.
- Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers participating in weekend activities, special events, and habitat restoration projects.
- Weekend Events: Assist in the planning, setup, and facilitation of weekend events, including workshops, nature walks, and interactive activities for visitors.
- Online Meetings: Attend weekly online meetings every Thursday evening to discuss upcoming plans, share ideas, and report on progress.
- Entrepreneurial Development: If interested, explore and develop entrepreneurial initiatives related to agriculture, sustainable products, or services that can be integrated into the ranch’s offerings.
- Horticulture Therapy Activities: Horticulture therapy is the use of plants and the natural world to improve the social, spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional well-being of individuals who participate in it.
- Must be enrolled in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway.
- Maintain good academic standing.
- Exhibit a strong desire to become an entrepreneur or professional in a trade.
- Possess or be willing to develop products or services for production and sale through the ranch.
- Must become a registered member of the STEM Direct Youth Chamber of Commerce.
- Must complete JEM Team 101 Orientation (online course included with member registration)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for sustainability, agriculture, and nature conservation.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Creativity and a willingness to innovate.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Enthusiasm for learning and sharing knowledge with others.
- Hands-on experience in agriculture and sustainability.

Job Description:
We are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Resident Farmers and Agricultural Operations Managers to oversee livestock and agricultural activities at The Smith Family Ranch. Plans are in the works to have the successful candidates reside on the property in a designated tiny home bungalow. Candidates will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing our agricultural spaces and livestock operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee day-to-day operations of the livestock and agricultural spaces on the ranch.
- Implement sustainable farming practices to maximize productivity and minimize environmental impact.
- Develop and execute livestock management strategies, including feeding, breeding, health care, and maintenance.
- Coordinate planting, harvesting, and crop rotation schedules for optimal yields and variety.
- Utilize engineering and project management skills to enhance operational efficiency and develop innovative farming solutions.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and equipment effectively and safely.
- Collaborate with the team to plan and execute various projects related to farm infrastructure, water management, and land development.
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Assist in community engagement events, educational programs, and tours showcasing agricultural practices at the ranch.
- Train and supervise additional staff or volunteers assisting in farming activities.
- Previous experience in farming, livestock management, and agricultural operations.
- Strong project management and engineering skills.
- Proficiency in operating heavy machinery and equipment.
- Military veteran with a disciplined work ethic and dedication to excellence.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to reside on-site at The Smith Family Ranch and embrace the lifestyle of a resident farmer.

Call for Proposals:
We invite organizations, businesses, educational institutions, nonprofits, and individuals to submit proposals for partnership programs aligned with our focus areas. Proposals should clearly outline the program’s objectives, implementation strategy, target audience, expected outcomes, and collaboration opportunities.
