Service Goal #5
JEM Teams must define the wants, needs, exchanges, scarcity, economic costs, competition, price, and non-price competition that the Deal Shack Pop Up Markets address to improve and sustain the active lifestyle of each senior population they serve.
Map Your Location
Update the status of each location, its amenities, special features or improvements on the interactive maps of each College Town the Deal Shack hosts markets in.
Develop A Master Plan
Help create better functions and aesthetics of each market’s design. Think about what resources and additional activities can be added to improve the service event.
Assess Project Cost & Resources
Assess the cost and resources required to sustain and/or improve the services and activities provided by the Deal Shack Pop Up Markets. Consider growing concerns, conditions and requirements of their aging population, functionality of each market area (how people and supplies will get in and out), and the materials, supplies, resources and estimated amount of time needed to fully develop each activity and sales area of the market.
The 12 Permaculture Principles
Integrate the 12 Permaculture Principles into your overall design for an improved market experience. Be sure to include the financial, social and economic impact, long term use of equipment and materials, achievable maintenance and the attractive appearance of each market.
Fundraising & Fund Continuity Strategy
Use our Digital Badge & Skillcoin Rewards System to create a detailed budget with your team. Determine what resources you already have and decide how you will acquire the remaining, cash, materials and labor.
Implement Your Plan
Prepare your site, your team, your materials and supplies, then integrate them into a work plan for the day’s activities.
Contributions & wishlist donations will be used to sponsor digital badges and build the financial portfolio for this service project. All donations will be listed in the Junior Southern Barter Club Marketplace and in each NSPIE Members’ virtual account.
