Service Goal Timeline
Critical Thinking Activity
You have 4 weeks to plan for the implementation of your Bag of Chips strategic plan. Use your Achievement Domain checklists to select service goals that will help you implement your skill card strategy. Then, create a timeline to outline your plan and post your results.
Step 1: Organize Your Skill Cards by Achievement Domain
• Sort your skill cards from your Bag of Chips skill card strategy by their color-coded achievement domains (e.g., Leadership & Teamwork, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Workforce Readiness & Personal Branding, etc.).
• List how many skills you have in each Achievement Domain.Example:
“My skill card strategy includes five skill cards. Three are from the Leadership & Teamwork domain, one from Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and one from Workforce Readiness & Personal Branding.”Step 2: Match Each Skill Card to Its Achievement Domain Checklist
• Pair each skill card collection with its corresponding Achievement Domain checklist (each skill card has a designated domain).
• Locate each skill in its checklist and review all available service goals.Example:
“For my ‘Networking & Relationship Building’ skill card in the Leadership & Teamwork domain, I reviewed the checklist and found service goals related to connecting with potential sponsors, developing partnerships, and reaching out to influencers.”Step 3: Select & Mark Your Service Goals
• Identify which service goals are needed to implement your strategic plan.
• Mark the column that best describes how each skill’s service goal will be used in your project.
• Total the number of marks in each column (If using a digital form, this will calculate automatically).Example:
“I selected service goals that focus on marketing, financial planning, and supply chain coordination to ensure my chips get into local stores.”Step 4: Build Your 4-Week Implementation Timeline
• Use a calendar, notebook, or project planning tool to determine the best start dates for each service goal.
• If unsure, estimate reasonable deadlines based on your project timeline.
• Place each service goal into a 4-week timeline to track when each task needs to be completed.Example Timeline:
Wk Service Goal Skill Card Achievement Domain Due 1 Research local snack distributors Research Innovation & Entrepreneurship Feb 25 2 Secure partnerships with local schools Community Ecosystem Leadership & Teamwork March 4 3 Finalize branding & packaging Marketing STEAM Careers Mar 11 4 Launch crowdfunding campaign Time Management Workforce Readiness Mar 18 Look at the example of a skill card strategy timeline an individual created for a computer purchasing project they had to complete.
Step 5: Post Your Discussion & Reflection (3-5 sentences)
• Share your timeline results and describe how the service goals align with your skill card strategy.
• Reflect on your next steps and whether you need to adjust or add skills.Example:
“After completing my timeline, I realized that my skill card strategy is strong in networking and branding, but I need to improve my financial literacy for budgeting my campaign. My next step is to add a financial planning skill card and adjust my timeline to allow for budgeting workshops. This process helped me see how my service goals fit into a structured plan and how to manage my project effectively.”Once you’ve reviewed your post, submit it to the discussion board and respond to at least two classmates’ posts with feedback or suggestions.
