A Loyalty & Rewards Program
The Digital Badge & Skillcoin Rewards System is the loyalty rewards program of the Community On Demand™ Creative Economy. It provides in-game currencies so educators and learners can have a universal framework for issuing, earning, displaying and rewarding achievement.
In-game currencies give learners the ability to strengthen their financial literacy skills, invest in their achievements, and encourage the sale and distribution of the product, services, content, innovative ideas and impact solutions they create as they play Community On Demand™.
Digital Badges & Skillcoin Rewards come in the form of physical and digital currencies as well as intrinsic values (resources). These values are known as potential and contribution values and are reflected on each skill card, eGift card, trade point, and community share. They are sustained by investments made by members of Local Contributor Networks.
The Community On Demand™ Creative Economy measures currencies of The Digital Badge & Skillcoin Rewards System by tracking and monitoring use and growth of the 63 high-demand employability skills that can be applied before, during and after during a work-based learning experience. They help learners add value to the actions they take and decisions they make while completing their STEAM Investigative Process. Through Community On Demand™, learners gain real world experiences in project management, customer service, business development, event coordination, financial literacy and community-based economics.
The main goal is to give learners a more creative way to understand the economic principles that govern their lives.

Our In-Game Currencies & Value System
Everyone Has Potential . . .
Digital Badges & Skillcoin Rewards come in the form of physical and digital currencies as well as intrinsic values (resources). These values are known as potential and contribution values and are reflected on each skill card, eGift card, trade point, and community share.
Our system measures currencies by tracking and monitoring use and growth of 63 high-demand soft skills during a work-based learning experience or activity before, during and after completion of the STEAM Investigative Process (i.e. project management, customer service, business development, event coordination, financial literacy and community-based economics.)
Potential Values
Potential Values are the significant values we assigned to each achievement domain and are listed on each Community On Demand™ skill card within that domain. Potential values range between $10 – $50 and are used to help us learners place value on their potential to become highly skilled and productive members of society. Learners are able to convert their potential value into contribution values once they use their skills to help complete specific tasks for a team project.
Contribution Values
Contribution values are created when learners put their skills to use – thereby converting the potential of their dormant skills into a contribution to their team, project and community. Learners are encouraged to document, track and submit proof of their work by using Community On Demand™ skills assessment worksheets, images, videos, presentations, resumes, online profiles, job or career applications, digital and/or financial portfolios to demonstrate how they used their employability skills to solve real world problems and benefit their communities.
Contribution Values are generated from:
- the applied use of employability skills to solve a problem
- the sponsorship of STEAM Education eGift Cards,
- active engagement within The NEXT Steps website, and
- the purchase and management of community shares through the Pop Shop CoOP
Contribution values are calculated by multiplying the number of skills used (per achievement domain) times the potential value of each Community On Demand™ skill card. The Community On Demand™ Skills Assessment Worksheets and Game Boards makes it easy to digitally record and measure potential and contribution values so learners can track which digital badges and Skillcoin Rewards™ they’ve earned (i.e., cash stipends, points and resources).
Learners are able to convert their potential value into contribution values once they use their skills to help complete specific tasks for a team project. Contribution values are assigned when a learner documents use of an employability skill via a skills assessment survey however, digital badges are issued when a learner submits digital proof of their work, use of their employability skills and achievements (images, videos, presentations, resumes, online profiles, job or career applications, digital and/or financial portfolios.)
STEAM Education eGift Card Sponsorships
STEAM Education eGift cards are electronic gift cards that allow community stakeholders to make program-related investments in the development of a learner’s employability skills. Each Community On Demand™ skill card has a matching eGift card profile page that lists the service goals, Skillcoin Rewards™ allocations, digital media sharing links and purchase buttons that inform community stakeholders, donors and eGift card purchasers what skills they are investing in and can expect to see demonstrated by the benefacting learner. It also ensured learners can track, measure, issue and display their achievements.
eGfit card sponsorships help strengthen a learner’s financial literacy by helping them understand how to allocate donated funds into designated spending pools. eGfit card sponsorships help fund the Impact Projects and work-based learning experiences of each learner that plays the Advanced & Ultimate Team Play levels of Community On Demand™. eGift Card sponsorships are also used to increase the financial literacy of each learner as recipients of eGift card sponsorships must allocate and use the funds according to the Skillcoin Rewards Allocation Chart below:
Triple Your Impact. Use our STEAM Education eGift cards to purchase community shares, reward student achievement, and make tax-deductible investments in skills development training that can positively impact the triple bottom line of your team, project or company.
Each eGift card has a profile page that lists the service goals, Skillcoin Rewards™ allocations, digital media sharing links, and funding allocations as listed in the charts below:
REWARD
30% of all eGift card sponsorships are allocated to a Student Stipend Fund to provide scholarships, grants, cash stipends and donations.
FUND
40% of all eGift card sponsorships go to our Impact Project Fund to create operating budgets for service-learning projects.
INVEST
30% of all eGift card sponsorships go to our CoD Network Fund to support start-ups, special events and social ventures.
